Forget about "Back to the Future".

Unseen Theatre Company has more exciting things to do. It's going "Back to the Past".

That’s right, back to the first Pratchett play it ever produced at the Bakehouse Theatre eight years ago. Back to the most infamous city in the “multiverse” – Ankh-Morpork. Back to the origins of Sam Vimes, the City Watch and “Cut Me Own Throat” Dibbler.

Pyramids

Dates:
11 May 2007 (Fri) - 26 May 2007 (Sat)
Dates description:
Wed to Sat at 8pm

A play which may illuminate many mysteries – why tortoises hate philosophy, why too much religion is bad for goats, and what it is that handmaidens actually do.

When Teppic inherits the throne of the timeless desert kingdom of Djelibeybi rather earlier than expected (his father is not too happy about it either), he finds that being trained by the Assassin's Guild in Ankh-Morpork may not necessarily be the ideal background for the job.

This, of course, is only the beginning of his problems. Still, we all know, don’t we, that it’s good to be King.

Jingo

Dates:
30 Jun 2006 (Fri) - 15 Jul 2006 (Sat)
Dates description:

DISCWORLD GOES TO WAR! - OR DOES IT?

Carpe Jugulum

Dates:
04 Jul 2008 (Fri) - 19 Jul 2008 (Sat)
Dates description:
Wed to Sat at 8pm

The de Magpyrs are the sort of vampires that would have Count Dracula spinning in his grave. They are modern, forward-looking and no longer afraid of holy water, garlic, religious symbols or, indeed, of anything else.

They're out of the casket, and want a bite of the future.

Not only that, they've got style and fancy waistcoats.

Little do they know, that they should be afraid - very afraid - because the Lancre witches are on hand to save the Discworld and the battle is on!

The witches are about to "kick some bat"!

Making Money

Dates:
10 Apr 2009 (Fri) - 25 Apr 2009 (Sat)
Dates description:
Wed to Sat at 8pm

Moist Von Lipwig is given another offer that is too good to refuse. Who would not wish to be the man in charge of the Ankh-Morpork Royal Mint? It’s a job for life but, as former con man Moist Von Lipwig is learning, life is not necessarily for long. The Chief Cashier is almost certainly a vampire, every day Moist has to take the Chairman for “walkies” and there’s something nameless in the cellar. Oh, and it turns out that the Royal Mint runs at a loss. According to Moist, that’s what happens when you base the value of your monetary system on gold. So just what should he base it on?

Going Postal

Dates:
25 Nov 2005 (Fri) - 10 Dec 2005 (Sat)
Dates description:
Wed to Sat at 8pm

Moist von Lipwig was a con artist, a fraud and a man faced with a life choice - be hanged, or put Ankh-Morpork’s ailing postal service back on its feet.

It was a tough decision, but perhaps there’s a shot at redemption for a man who’s prepared to push the envelope.

Pratchett again uses his “Discworld” where anything can happen, and it often does, as a parody of our own.

This time it's not a battle between Trolls and Dwarves, but a battle between the services of the Clacks Towers (read electronic communication) and that of the Post Office (read “snail mail”).

Commander Samuel Vimes is back! But back where? That is the question he needs answered.

The past catches up with us all. But never so quickly as when we go back in time to confront it. Terry Pratchett fans will remember that the last time we saw Sam Vimes in Unseen Theatre Company's production of "The Fifth Elephant" we left him having some of his rough edges polished off by his new wife Lady Sybil.

Vimes' marriage had made him a Duke. His heroism had promoted him to Commander of the City Watch. Not only that, but Sybil was expecting their first child.
