Position:
Lighting Designer
Stephen has been active in theatre from a young age and it won’t let him escape. Over the many years he has gained skills in all of the backstage arts, but where he really excels is in lighting. Well really anything that uses technology. Lighting still remains his major interest. He has designed many shows for companies in South Australia, in particular for Unseen, Accidental Productions and the Bakehouse Theatre. He also works at a variety of venues around town as a multi-skilled venue technician. He is constantly developing his skills and is always keen to help others starting in this industry.
He has designed for the company Straylight Australia's show's in the Adelaide Fringe 2011 and 2012 - Shakespeare's Mothers: Mad, Bad and Dangerous to Know, and Shakespeare's Queens:She Wolves and Serpents.
They loved him so much that they are taking him to Edinburgh with them for the 2012 Fringe there. Stephen also designed many of the other shows that are appearing at the Bakehouse Theatre for the Fringe 2012. He has also been asked to design lighting for Galleon Theatre and the Adelaide University Theatre Guild.
Amongst his day to day lighting tasks he has also found time to write a Technical Theatre Blog, Ramblings of a Techie, and also for the trade magazine CX.
